NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Alshon Jeffery (calf) is expected to play Week 1 against the Packers.
This is further confirmation that we can expect to see Jeffery on the field for Sunday's 1 PM ET opener. We'll have to keep an eye on inactives, but don't expect Jeffery to be part of that list. He's a must-start in redraft leagues.
NFL Network's Albert Breer reports the Bills "plan" to give LeSean McCoy (hamstring) the "bulk" of the backfield work Week 1 against the Colts.
McCoy isn't 100 percent over his training-camp hamstring injury, but he's close after taking it easy the last two weeks of the preseason. The Bills listed him as probable and plan to work him. McCoy makes for an interesting contrarian play in DFS this week. Buffalo's plan will certainly be to attack the Colts on the ground, and McCoy could have upwards of 20 touches Sunday.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Michael Floyd (fingers) is "poised to play" Week 1 against the Saints.
Floyd was being called a game-time decision on Friday, but signs point to him being able to play after missing the entire preseason with dislocated fingers that punctured his palm. Still, Floyd isn't much more than a boom-or-bust WR3/4; he didn't have much chemistry with Carson Palmer last season and projects to be the third or fourth option in the Cardinals' passing game.
NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports Mike Evans (hamstring) "feels good and is optimistic about playing" Sunday against the Titans.
The Buccaneers are going to let Evans test his hamstring out in pregame warmups before making an official announcement. We're guessing he'll suit up, though there is some risk involved because the Bucs don't play until 4:25 PM ET. If active, Evans is a must-start against an injury-plagued Tennessee secondary.
Alshon Jeffery (calf) is active for Week 1 against the Packers.
Jeffery battled a month-long calf strain, but is ready to roll for the opener after sitting out the preseason. He'll get the start, along with Eddie Royal (hip), who is also active. Jeffery likely isn't 100 percent, but is a must-start in redraft.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports hopes are "not high" that Mike Evans (hamstring) will play Sunday against the Titans.
Evans will test his hamstring out in warmups but Schefter noted that Lovie Smith is famously cautious when it comes to hamstring injuries. With Tampa Bay playing at 4:25 PM ET, fantasy owners might want to look elsewhere. Vincent Jackson and tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins will both have expanded roles if Evans is forced to sit out.
FOX Sports' Jay Glazer reports the Bears will "monitor" Alshon Jeffery (calf) on a potential "pitch count" Week 1 versus Green Bay.
On ESPN's pre-game show, Bob Holtzman indicated Jeffery wasn't running full speed in warmups, while Eddie Royal (questionable, hip) was. Still, Jeffery's history of being able to perform at a high level while not being 100 percent in the past is a strong data point for his fantasy owners to consider. We'd lean strongly toward starting Jeffery this week despite the concerns.
CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reported Arian Foster (groin surgery) has told teammates a return in Week 2 is "quite possible."
La Canfora said the "worst case scenario" would be Week 3 as long as Foster does not suffer any setbacks. Foster said he was "ahead of schedule" this week and was reportedly "moving quickly and decisively" on a side field at practice. Owners who took the risk on Foster this August should reap the benefits sometime in the very near future.
Fox Sports' Jay Glazer reports Mike Evans (hamstring) is "very doubtful" to play Sunday against the Titans.
Glazer said it would take a "complete turnaround" for Evans to see the field on Sunday. He's still going to go through pregame warmups but that probably won't be enough to sway coach Lovie Smith, who is notoriously cautious when it comes to hamstring injuries. Vincent Jackson will see a huge boost in value with Evans in street clothes.
FOX Sports' Jay Glazer reports Michael Floyd (hand) is "expected to play" Sunday against New Orleans.
All signs have been pointing this way for about a week. Floyd returns as Arizona's likely No. 3 option in the passing game, behind Larry Fitzgerald and John Brown. In fantasy, view Floyd as a boom-or-bust WR3/flex option.
Mike Evans (hamstring) is inactive for Week 1 against the Titans.
Evans said he felt good but the Buccaneers and their notoriously cautious coach Lovie Smith are opting to play it safe. Louis Murphy will start in Evans' place. Vincent Jackson will be Jameis Winston's go-to receiver in Week 1 with tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins also playing a bigger role than usual.
